Deuteronomy 8:2 – And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

When was the last time you stopped and meditated on where God has brought your from? In this scripture, the word remember refers to:

  1. Think about
  2. Look back
  3. To bring back to mind by trying
  4. Be careful not to forget
“…all the way” speaks to the condition of your life before and after you met Christ. Maybe it was:
  1. a worldly life
  2. a life going nowhere
  3. an empty life
  4. a worried life
  5. an overwhelmed life
  6. a dissatisfied life
  7. on and on and on….
in which the Lord has brought you from. For those of us who truly know Christ Jesus, it is easy to appreciate how He lovingly brought us out of a life void of Him, and into an intimate and personal relationship with Him and a new life filled with His peace, power and glory.
Even though the journey has not necessarily been an easy one with:
  1. The trials of life which include – sickness, disease, death, sorrow, pain, financial woes, etc.
  2. The temptations of the devil – to give up, quit, get weary in well-doing, the lies he tell us that Christ doesn’t care or care enough
  3. The pleading of our own flesh for satisfaction and comfort
Even in the light of these things, Jesus is still the best thing that ever happened to us! Why not take tome today to obey the Holy Scripture and “remember all the ways the Lord has brought you.” You’ll see He has bought you a MIGHTY LONG WAY. Furthermore, if He has blessed you once, He will do it again and again and again. So lift up your head and hands and thank Him, that things are as well as they are.
